Gardiner Man Winner of Maine State Flag Redesign Contest

Maine Department of the Secretary of State Shenna Bellows announced that Adam Lemire of Gardiner is the winner of the recent Maine State Flag Redesign Contest.

Lemire’s design, according the Maine Department of the Secretary of State’s Facebook page, “stood out as a beautiful, faithful representation of an Eastern White Pine tree proper.”

The design was chosen from the over 400 submissions.

Maine voters will cast their opinion this fall: “Do you favor making the former state flag, replaced as the official flag of the State in 1909 and commonly known as the Pine Tree Flag, the official flag of the State?”
