The Lisbon Water District today, Aug. 29, has issued a “Do not drink” order. Officials say the water department’s filters failed and allowed too much sludge into the drinking water. The failure results in possible high level of arsenic.
After changing filters, the department plans to test samples. However, those results may not be back until Sept. 4. Residents should not drink the water until then.
