The U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights says The Maine Department of Education has a drop dead date of April 11.
It is the Trump Administration’s final warning for the state’s refusal to comply with Title IX and the president’s executive order banning trans athletes from girls and women’s sports.
Governor Janet Mills, the Maine Principals’ Association and the Greely School Board have said they will not comply, putting federal education funding at risk.
