The Maine Department of Corrections (MDOC) is actively searching for 45-year-old Brian Day, a resident of the Bolduc Correctional Facility in Warren, who left his authorized jobsite in Thomaston without permission on Monday, May 4.

Day had been classified at the community custody level, allowing him to work in the community during the day while serving his sentence. He was sentenced in October 2025 to three and a half years in prison for theft, forgery, eluding an officer, and other offenses. His earliest possible release date was listed as March 5, 2028.

According to MDOC, authorities have activated the department’s Fugitive Investigation Apprehension Team and are coordinating with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies to locate and apprehend Day.

Day is described as 6 feet 2 inches tall and approximately 240 pounds, with brown hair, blue eyes, a scar on his left leg, and tattoos on his abdomen and right shoulder. wmtw.com
