The Department of Education has launched an investigation into Maine schools.
57 of the state’s 192 school districts reportedly have policies concealing students’ transgender identity from parents.
DOE Secretary Linda McMahon said in a post on social media:
It is deeply concerning to hear that teachers & school counselors in Maine are reportedly encouraging & helping students to undergo so-called ‘gender transitions’ while keeping parents in the dark. We will enforce all federal laws to safeguard students & families.
