Somerset Public Health and it’s Veteran’s Health Access Partners are hosting the the 1st Annual Somerset County Vet Fest on September 12 at Skowhegan Area High School. The goal of this event is to create community for veterans and connect them and their families to supportive services, including:
• veterans benefits
• veterans health services
• employment opportunities
• mental health support
• legal consultation
• educational opportunities
In addition to the over 50 vendors who will be present for the day, there will also be food trucks, a Maine Army National Guard obstacle course for the kids, live music, a fly-in from a Black Hawk helicopter, along with prizes, raffles, and giveaways.
