The Maine Warden Service is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a man who allegedly rode an ATV on closed trails and private property without permission, then fled from game wardens in a manner that nearly caused a collision.
The incident occurred on April 10, in Dayton.
According to the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife, game wardens approached the individual while he was operating an ATV on a closed trail system. When instructed to stop, the man refused, accelerated rapidly, and nearly struck one of the wardens. Later the same day, a game warden attempted to stop and speak with the suspect at the Dayton Country Store on Route 5/35. The man again fled on his ATV. Store security cameras captured clear images of the individual during the encounter.
