Charlie St. Clair, longtime head of the Laconia Motorcycle Week Association and a New Hampshire state representative, has died following injuries suffered in a motorcycle crash in Ohio, according to a story at WMUR TV.
The association said St. Clair died Saturday at a Cleveland hospital after his injuries became too severe. He ultimately died of heart failure.
St. Clair had served as executive director of Laconia Motorcycle Week for 35 years and was also a member of the Laconia Planning Board and the state Legislature.
Gov. Kelly Ayotte praised St. Clair as a dedicated public servant who helped promote Laconia and welcome visitors to New Hampshire through his work with Motorcycle Week.
The association thanked hospital staff, family members, friends and others who supported St. Clair during his treatment. Details about funeral and memorial services will be announced later.
