Plans for Future of Androscoggin Mill in Jay Revealed

Governor Janet Mills today, March 8, announced plans for the future of the former Androscoggin Mill in Jay. The historic mill was shut-down in March 2023.

Mills says that a portion of the facility will be used to make Oriented Strand Board. According to Wikipedia, OSB is “a type of engineered wood similar to particle board, formed by adding adhesives and then compressing layers of wood strands in specific orientations.”
