Walmart, including stores in Maine, has recalled nearly 10,000 cases of its Great Value apple juice due to inorganic arsenic.
The recall, initially announced on August 15, got a bit more urgent recently, bumping it up to a Class II recall.
The juice in question? Great Value brand, sold in six-packs of 8-ounce bottles.
Why the recall? The juice had levels of inorganic arsenic slightly above what the FDA deems acceptable, sitting at about 13 parts per billion when the guideline is 10.
Might want to reconsider drinking that bottle of apple juice sitting in your fridge. https://t.co/cZS6ePGRBR
