The Hubbard Free Library in Hallowell is presenting a special “Stephen King Day,” May 17, to honor the legendary Maine author. The day is being billed as, “A celebration of literacy and community through the works of Stephen King.”
Events are planned throughout the city and will wrap-up with a “Carrie” themed 21+ prom.

Proceeds from the events will support local causes, including the Hubbard Free Library.
By the way, why May 17? Well, according to the FAQ at the Hubbard Free Library website, this is the day that Johnny wakes up from his coma in “The Dead Zone.”
