The Oxford County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a 49-year-old Sweden resident in connection with a series of burglaries targeting seasonal camps in the area.

According to a press release from Sheriff Christopher Wainwright, deputies arrested Travis Lewis of Sweden on May 14 following an active investigation into multiple seasonal camp burglaries.

After the arrest, deputies executed a search warrant at a property on Knights Hill Road in Sweden. During the search, investigators recovered a number of items identified as stolen property, along with drug paraphernalia, miscellaneous clothing and garments believed to be linked to a recent burglary. Authorities also seized approximately one dozen firearms and methamphetamine. Lewis was transported to the Oxford County Jail, where he was admitted without incident.

Lewis is currently being held at the Oxford County Jail pending court proceedings. The Sheriff’s Office noted that the investigation is part of a broader effort addressing numerous reported burglaries in the Sweden area, some of which date back to the previous summer and earlier. Officials are urging residential homeowners and seasonal camp owners to inspect their properties—including structures, campers, sheds, and other outbuildings—and to inventory their personal items.
