Officials responded to a two-vehicle crash this morning, Nov. 12, in the 800 block of Center Minot Hill Road in Minot.

From the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office:

The preliminary investigation indicates that a red 1989 Ford F-150 pickup truck, owned by Mitzie Naples and operated by Sherwood Jordan, 73, of Bethel, Maine, was traveling toward Auburn when it struck a tree that had fallen into the roadway. The impact caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle, cross the centerline, and collide with a gray 2025 Toyota RAV4 traveling in the opposite direction. The Toyota was operated by Howie Wu, 16, of Brooklyn, New York, and owned by Chun H. Wu, 55, also of Brooklyn, New York. Jordan, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was partially ejected from the vehicle. Naples, who was a passenger in the Ford, along with three occupants of Wu’s vehicle, were transported by United Ambulance Service and Auburn Fire-Rescue to a local hospital for treatment and evaluation of non-life-threatening injuries. The roadway was temporarily closed while emergency personnel cleared the scene and investigated the crash.

The incident remains under investigation.
