A 19-year-old man from New York was taken into custody in Waterville on Friday morning, April 10, on a fully extraditable warrant for second-degree homicide related to multiple gang-related shootings.
At approximately 11:00 a.m. on April 10, 2026, members of the Waterville Police Department, the FBI Safe Streets Task Force, and the NYPD Gun Violence Suppression Division executed a search warrant at 439 West River Road in Waterville. During the operation, David McCadney, 19, of New York, was arrested without incident.
McCadney was charged with Fugitive from Justice and is being held without bail at the Kennebec County Correctional Facility. Authorities stated that no additional charges are expected against McCadney or anyone else involved in the search warrant execution.
We will not allow the City of Waterville to be a safe haven for these violent criminals. Thanks to the skilled work of our investigators alongside our federal partners, Waterville is a safer place to wake up in this morning.
McCadney is expected to be extradited back to New York in the coming weeks. This case remains under investigation by the Waterville Police Department.
