The Bucksport Police Department is asking for public assistance with an ongoing investigation when a senior citizen was struck and seriously injured.
From the Bucksport PD Facebook page:
Over the last several months, the Bucksport Police Department has been investigating a hit and run incident that occurred on Main Street. During this incident, a cherished member of our senior citizen community was struck and seriously injured while crossing Main Street in the marked cross walk. We have identified the suspect vehicle involved as a black Jeep Cherokee that was traveling east at the time of the incident. The vehicle continued without stopping through the traffic lights onto Rt. 1. This vehicle should now have damage to the front passenger’s side from striking the pedestrian. We have shared the images and videos of the incident with our State and Federal Law Enforcement partners in an attempt to clarify images of the vehicle and finish up our investigation. Remember, this is not TV, and often takes considerable time for the evidence to be processed.
The images above are from the Main Street/Rt. 1 traffic light and the Bucksport Town Office.
If you have any information contact the Bucksport Police Department at (207) 469-7951.
